Absolutely stunning pixel art.
To the poster below me, I'm willing to bet my hat that the reflection is done by every sprite having a reflection(flip) as part of their sprite, with some sort of distortion effect applied below X boundary.
As far as the game, the lack of ability to control the villagers is the most frustrating part. It feels like they walk off at absolutely the worst time, and there is never enough of them to cover everything.
For this reason trying to expand the kingdom is suicide. Just castle with two walls, maybe 4 farmers/builder and as many archers as possible. They will hang out in the middle at night.
I beat it on hard. Come on guys, while the difficulty is difficult, its nowhere near impossible. Good game overall. The engrish was horrible.
Excellent game. It has serious potential to be a full payable game; not as-is, but with additions. but the core mechanics are there. After the bonus mission I wanted more.
Also, to those having trouble: although it seems counter-intuitive, your build order should be 1) living quarter, 2) metal extractor, 3) component factory, 4) water pump, 5) oxygen plant. Add colonists and bunkers as needed.
This is counter intuitive because one would assume you would want to take care of the essentials of not dying first, but here this is not the case. The colony is important, the individual spacemen are not, no matter how much you might like them.
This is really excellent
This game is solidly constructed, but it is missing something. The gameplay mechanics are also not my cup of tea.
I liked it.
Here is my parser suggestions:
1. Suggest to the computer to attempt a gravity slingshot around the sun. Even if navigation is broken, it must be possible to engage the engine. I don't like giving up.
2. "where are the others?" -- are we to understand that the player is the only member of the crew?
The thing I like is that a pacifist playthrough is entirely possible, and maddeningly challenging. I havn't suceeded at it just yet, but it is doable. You get points for each kill only, and stars are for how many hostages you rescued. The trick is to end each level with a score of zero and 3 stars and with an overall score of zero.
I don't know if the game actually rewards you for this conduct or not, but it is EXTREMELY challenging.
The hardest part is that you need to path your way through the levels using grenades, ropes, and occasionally flash grenades in order to position yourself such that the hostages will be "safe" (defined as walking slightly farther than just offscreen) without getting them killed by the grenade throwers.
Doing level 1 like this is totally possible and doable, but the difficulty ramps up to 11 on level 2 due to the grenade throwers and the horrific positioning of hostages near them.
If anyone gets to the end of a pacifist run, let NG know!
try this boss

Good game, it's not too hard. Good graphics. Just sad that there is no story, but the mechanics for a great game are there. I would also suggest more weapons and weapon types. Like fore example yellow and laser are tied in only to those attacks. Missiles are great, I find that they are the hardest weapons to overcome when combined with a solid state attack like the helix or its derivatives because they push you around. Singleplayer makes great use of this.
